As the only profession protected by the United States Constitution, the media have certain responsibilities that I believe are being neglected. From convicting people before trials, to fallacious headlines that stir violence, to forged documents about the president, to blatantly bias or even corrupt reporting, there is no doubt our credibility has diminished, and it reflects in the numbers. Newspapers are going out of business. The New York Times has fallen to under one million subscribers. CBS, NBC and ABC network evening newscasts lose market share every year. Sure, a part of that is due to outside influences, but I believe most is due to changing attitudes within the industry.
I am not only a media personality, I am also a harsh critic and student of this profession. Through my own experiences, observations, and studies, I have learned to conduct myself in such a way my credibility as a journalist is never in question.
The media have an obligation to provide the most accurate, reliable and objective information possible. It is imperative we maintain - or resume - our high standards of excellence. I am committed to doing my part, one story at a time, to earn back the trust of the American people. That is my goal.
Thank you for visiting my website. I appreciate your time and interest.
