As my tenure in Casper, Wyoming drew to a close, I began to think about what I desired in my next job. I wanted to stay at the anchor desk to improve on the skills I just spent two years building. On the reporting side, it was essential the area produce quality, diverse news. Plus, it needed to be a city my wife and I would be proud to call home. I was fortunate to get all of that in Madison, Wisconsin.

Since June of ’07, I have anchored on the weekends and reported during the weekday in the Capital City.
As weekend evening news anchor at WMTV, my show became the most-watched weekend newscast in the DMA. In my five months on the show, it posted a 30 percent ratings increase from the previous year. The result was similar following a move to the weekend mornings. Ratings have increased by as much as 200 percent. My work at WMTV has also resulted in an Emmy and more than a half-dozen awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association and Associated Press, including best Live Shot, Spot News, Morning Newscast, Evening Newscast and Documentary.
